Sicilian Snow Balls with Pomegranate Paint

6 dozen 1-inch balls
Ingredients: 

Sicilian Snow Balls
2 cups flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup Plugrá® European-Style Butter, unsalted
1/4 cup sugar
1 egg
2 teaspoons vanilla
1 cup walnuts, chopped
1 cup chocolate chips
Confectioners sugar, for dusting

Pomegranate Paint
2 cups pomegranate juice
2 cups sugar

Directions: 

Sicilian Snow Balls
1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
2. Sift the flour and salt together and set aside.
3. In a large mixing bowl with the paddle attachment begin creaming the Plugrá Butter on low speed and increase the speed to medium while gradually adding the sugar. Add the egg and vanilla and mix until all the ingredients have incorporated.
4. Add the sifted ingredients, walnuts and chocolate chips and mix until all the ingredients are combined.
5. Roll the dough into 1-inch balls and place on baking sheet. Place in oven and bake for approximately 15 minutes.
6. Remove from oven and cool slightly then roll in confectioners' sugar.

Pomegranate Paint
1. Place the pomegranate paint and sugar in a medium saucepan over medium heat and reduce to a syrup like consistency. Garnish with pomegranate seeds.
2. Place the snow balls at the end of the plate and paint a line using the pomegranate paint on the plate for dipping.
