French Onion Flavored Butter
2 tablespoons Plugrá® European-Style Butter, salted
1 cup onion, finely chopped
2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
1 pound Plugrá® Eurpoean-Style Butter, salted, softened
1 cup Gruyere cheese, shredded
1 tablespoon thyme, fresh, chopped
1 teaspoon black pepper, ground
Salt to taste
1. Melt 2 tablespoons of Plugrá Butter in a medium skillet over medium-high heat. Add onion and cook until caramelized, about 12-15 minutes.
2. Stir in Worcestershire sauce. Remove from skillet and cool completely.
3. In a mixer, whip 1 pound Plugrá Butter on high speed until smooth and light.
4. Add in onion, cheese, thyme, pepper and salt; stir by hand until well combined.
5. Shape into two logs of equal size using parchment or wax paper. Refrigerate until firm (about 2 hours), slice into rounds as needed or transfer to plastic wrap to store.
